Amazon Threatens Even the Largest of Retailers

According to a study by Feedvisor: When consumers are ready to buy a specific brand of products, nearly 74% of them go straight to Amazon. The study was taken from more than 2,000 consumers who have purchased something from Amazon in past two years. .

The findings all point towards Amazon remaining a imminent threat to retailers big and small.  The likes of Walmart, Target and Macy aren’t even safe. Buyers seem to be getting remarkably comfortable with shopping not only online, but via their mobile devices.

By the end of 2019, Amazon is expected to count for over 50% of the e-commerce market in the United States. This pushes the consumer Amazon purchases up from only 48% this last year. This all according the data from eMarketer.

One major key component to Amazon’s key success is its loyal base of Prime paying members, which has now surpassed more than 100 million people as of this last year. Each household pays a membership fee of $12.99 per month or $119 a year for membership perks.  Feedvisor found that a whopping 58% of those members shop online at least once a week. Five percent buying there daily.
