Recalling the first time I was asked by our coder “Do you want me to make this responsive?” Of course my first reaction was “umm, hell yes.” However, I was referring to a ‘responsive’ conversion. Not a responsive design. Doah!
Responsive web designs, themes, and content management systems are everywhere. But what exactly is it and is it worth the extra trouble?
According to wikipedia.org, “Responsive web design (RWD) is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from mobile phones to desktop computer monitors).”
The infographic below put out by Brand-Maestro proves the popularity of the responsive design.
I really enjoyed your post. I’m trying to integrate the the new Twitter card feature into my wife’s WP blog, but I’m having some issues. I have managed to get the code into the functions.php, but it will not pull the excerpt. I’m trying to validate the page on twitter but without a valid description it won’t let me complete the process. Was wondering if you had any insight?
