10 Online Tools that Every Internet Marketer Needs In Their Tool Belt – Part One

When someone asks me what I do for a living, I honestly never know how to answer them.  I tend to wear more than just a handful of hats in my everyday life as an “internet marketer” just as I’m sure you do as well.  Those of us in the Internet Marketing world don’t often get the recognition that we more than often deserve for knowing not only how to do one task but several in order to get the task completed.

In this article I’ve assimilated 10 of the top online marketing tools that are out there for us all to utilize to drill our tasks down to a manageable level.

  1. AdWords Editor

Let’s face it AdWord’s campaigns have a habit of getting messy and confusing if you don’t stay on top of them, especially if you are running multiple campaigns at a time.   “AdWords Editor is a free, downloadable application for managing your AdWords advertising campaigns. The basic process is simple: download one or more accounts, make changes offline, then upload the changes to AdWords.”  The new recently revamped interface makes working with AdWords Editor even easier than before.

  1.  Google Trends

If you play in the PPC realm of this business, Google Trends can be an incredibly valuable tool for searching data trends.  Use this free resource to match your campaigns to the current real time demands.

  1.  Keyword Spy

This nifty powerful tool can help you gain a leg up over the competition.  It offers the data you you should expect from such a tool, but it throws in ad copy and keyword combination information into the mix.  A necessity for PPC marketers.

  1.  Keyword Niche Finder

This free, yes I said free, PPC tool lets you locate keyword niches in pre-organized keyword groups.  This could come in handy when you are sitting down planning out how to structure your campaigns.

  1.  WhatRunsWhere

This is another PPC targeted tool that offers a wide range of data on display advertising campaigns.  They cover 150,000 display advertisers across more than 90 ad networks within 15 countries.  WOW!

  1.  TweetDeck

If your focus is solely on Twitter, then TweetDeck should definitely be in your arsenal of tools. TweeDeck offers you all the functionality of a super user friendly interface, giving you all the data you need right at your fingertips.

  1.  Hootsuite

This little gem has been a lifesaver for me on so many occasions in the past.  This fully featured platform offers all the social media management functionality any good Social Media Marketer would ever need.  I use this almost daily for all of my social media blasts.

  1.  LikeAlyzer

What a name! This tool will evaluate the strength of your Facebook page.  The tool will give you additional insight into areas that you can improve engagement, followers, and fans.  It’s like putting your page under a microscope.

  1.  Discover.ly

Who would have thought a Chrome Extension would be so useful?  This add on app allows you to explore the relationships with influential people across several social media platforms.  No, it’s not supposed to be used to stalk your high school sweetheart!  This tool was created to help you form stronger relationships with industry power users.

  1.  Blog Topic Generator

My good friend BTG.  Hubspot’s Blog Topic Generator does pretty much what it’s name would say it does.  No fireworks or bells and whistles – but it will help you out of that binde of picking your next blog topic.

What tools do you have in your marketing tool belt?  Look for part deux of this list in the coming weeks for some more tools that all of us can get a grip on.
